Boy Scout Day is for Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of all ages who are interested in learning more about orienteering, New England's environmental history (wild plants and animals), tools for trapping and hunting and what it means to be a naturalist. (Please note: Girl Scout Day is on April 9.)
While completing an orienteering course with a map and compass* (not included - please bring your own compass), Scouts will explore the plant and animal changes brought on by man and learn how to prevent such transformations from happening again.
Also, explore the everyday lives of boys and men of the early 19th century through demonstrations and performances. Visit the animals and the costumed Villagers throughout the Countryside and the Center Village. Attend a presentation with animals from the wild; a collaboration with the Zoo in Forest Park. Participate in programs that meet Cub and Boy Scout requirements online registration will open one month in advance). And, if time permits, consider making a quick craft in the Hands-on Crafts Center ($5-10 per activity - first come, first served; some age and safety restrictions apply).

Many programs on this day meet Cub and Boy Scout requirements; additional Studios not meeting Scout requirements are offered for siblings (boys and girls) and all scouts, ages 5-17.
* Compass NOT Included. Please bring your own compass to complete this course or purchase one at the OSV Gift Shop.
